Insurance and Payment

Insurance

I am in-network with:

  • BCBS, including those out of state (except Triangle area ACA marketplace plans that say "UNC Alliance")
  • Aetna, including State Health Plan and ACA plans
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid Colorado Access

My full fees are:
90837 Psychotherapy $150
90791 Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation $180

Clients are responsible for their deductible and copays. If you are uncertain what that means for you, please reach out or see my explainer on insurance here.

Sliding Scale

I care deeply about accessibility to care. I try to resist the reduction of a therapeutic relationship to  commodity. For that reason, I offer a sliding scale, choose-what-you-pay system that removes a third-party payer and profiter from our relationship. This allows me to see those that seek therapy but do not have insurance, do not want diagnosis, or have insurance that does not cover their needs.

Sliding scale clients determine their own fee (80-150). The low end is only what I need to pay for food and housing in our current conditions. Those who can pay more tend to do so.  I monitor my income collectively rather than individually and find that this model aligns with both my approach to the therapeutic relationship and to philosophy.

Writing

"Therapy isn't curing somebody of something; it is a means of helping a person explore himself, his life, his consciousness." - Rollo May
